Knock Down Rebuild Webinar FAQs
If you missed our first MOJO's Knock Down Rebuild webinar, we have put together a list of frequently asked questions, answered by our team of experts to help you better understand the entire process.
Q.How can I keep across the progress of the build if I’m living interstate?
A) All of our customers have access to the MyHome Customer portal, which provides you with up to date information on the progress of your new MOJO home, including weekly photo updates and key documents to help guide you through the building journey with 24/7 access.
Q.Can we have our appointments online via Zoom for our colour selections?
A) Yes, the MyChoice Design Studio can arrange this with you directly, please speak with your Interior Design Consultant.
Q.Can MOJO Homes provide a turnkey solution that includes all aspects of the knock down rebuild, including demolition?
A) There are a few more moving parts when it comes to a knock down rebuild project. MOJO do not look after the demolition process as this is a specialised service. You will need to find a demolition company to take care of the first step. Complete this form to receive a MOJO Homes knock down rebuild fact sheet, which will help you get your site ready for us to replace with your brand-new MOJO home. After the demolition is done, MOJO look after the rest!
Q.Are there any additional payments required after we pay the $5,000 deposit?
A) After the initial deposit of $5,000 there will be nothing to pay until DA approvals.
Q.Would you recommend having third party independent building inspections?
A) We don’t believe it’s required as we are confident in the products we provide, due to our quality control and quality assurance programs however if you wish to organise your own independent building inspection in addition to those that MOJO provides throughout the build, we are happy for you to do so.
Q.What questions would you be asking the demolition companies when deciding who to choose for your demolition?
A) Some questions you can ask the demolition companies are:
- Have you done any demolitions in this area? If so, can I speak with those customers?
- Within the demolition price are you removing all the footings and underground services, including storm water, gas, electrical?
- My builder requires a clearance certificate – can you provide this?
- If we’re required to import fill, we will need a VENM or ENM certificate - can you provide this?
We also recommend you speak to the Department of Fair Trading to see if they’re a reputable demolition contractor as every demolition must be registered with the Department of Fair Trading.
