Mojo Homes Partners with MATES in Construction to Champion Mental Health in the Building Industry

Mojo is proud to announce our new partnership with MATES in Construction, the leading organisation dedicated to mental health awareness and suicide prevention in the construction industry. This partnership will see MATES working closely with Mojo Homes to provide support, training and resources to our team across NSW, helping to break down the stigma around mental health and ensure that no one in our industry struggles alone.
Why MATES?
Mojo Homes’ CEO Rob Douglas shared why this partnership was a natural fit:
“Mental health is one of the most important topics society needs to focus on, particularly in the construction industry. MATES is the leader in mental health awareness and training in our industry, and for us, it was a no-brainer. With two of our core values—Better Together and People Matter—this partnership just made sense.”
Representatives from Mojo Homes, including Andrew Mavin, Nick Stuth, and Trevor Celeban, joined MATES in Construction’s Brad Parker, Nigel Carpenter, and Andrew Bate to officially launch the partnership.
What This Means for Mojo Homes
MATES in Construction is well known for its proactive approach to mental health. Their mission is to provide suicide prevention programs and support networks specifically tailored to the construction industry. Through this partnership, we aim to:
- Break down the stigma around mental health and encourage open conversations.
- Ensure every member of our team knows they are supported and has access to the help they need.
- Create a culture of checking in on each other—because no one should feel like they’re struggling alone.
Rob Douglas reinforced the importance of this initiative, saying:
“It is crucial that in the construction industry we use all the resources available. MATES in Construction is one of the best resources we can use to assist our employees when they are not doing so well—to give them the strategies they need to strive and thrive.”
MATES in Action at Mojo
MATES in Construction has already been making an impact at Mojo Homes by attending our Trade Safety Expos across NSW, helping to educate our teams on the importance of mental health and support services.
Brad from MATES in Construction highlighted the significance of this partnership, saying:
“It’s great to partner with the largest residential building group in NSW. Together, we can reach more people and make a real difference in the industry.”
Looking Ahead
At Mojo Homes, we’re not just building homes—we’re building a culture where people feel valued, supported, and heard. Our partnership with MATES in Construction is a crucial step toward ensuring that mental health is a priority in our workplaces. We encourage everyone in our team to take part, ask questions, and—most importantly—look out for one another.
