Your guide to the MyChoice Design Studio

The MyChoice Design Studio is where you will make all the cosmetic decisions for your new MOJO Home, from paint colour all the way through to door handles. Once you have paid your initial acceptance fee, you will have the first of your six key appointments with the MyChoice Design team. You will be guided through each appointment by one of our qualified Interior Design Consultant ensuring you feel confident in every decision you make. We have prepared a guide to your MyChoice Design Studio appointments which will allow you to best prepare yourself. 

APPOINTMENT ONE: WALKTHROUGH

Length: Approx. 2 hours 

After your initial acceptance fee has been paid, you will be invited to a walkthrough of the studio appointment guided by your personal Interior Design Consultant. You will be guided through the studio and be introduced to our product range and your MOJO MORE Inclusions. In your appointment you will also be introduced to our six MyChoice styles; Luxe, Coastal, Classic, Contempo, Urban and Global. You will be able to take an online quiz during the walkthrough which will help you identify your style if you don’t know already.

Goal: The main goal of this walkthrough is so you can get a clear vision of what your time in the studio will look like. The best part about this walkthrough is that no decisions need to be made!  You’ll also get an idea of what style you fall under.

Actions after the appointment:  After your walkthrough, it’s time to collate your inspiration board. We courage you to look at our virtual tours or visit our display homes for inspiration. You can also include images from Pinterest, Instagram, magazines etc. Now is also a good time to start thinking about your budget for your selections as well as which style you envision your home to be; Luxe, Coastal, Classic, Contempo, Urban or Global.

APPOINTMENT TWO: SCOPE OF WORKS APPOINTMENT

Length: Approx. 3 hours

In this appointment your Interior Designer will go through your final scope of works and plans to ensure that everything has been captured in the layout for your new home ready for final plans to be drawn ready for lodging your building permits.

Goal: After this appointment you will have a clear image of the layout of your home.

 

APPOINTMENT THREE: AUSTRAL EXTERNAL COLOUR APPOINTMENT

Length: Approx. 2 hours 

Once you have completed your contract signing, your next appointment will be held offsite at your local Austral Colour Hub. Here you will select all your external colours in the style of your beautiful new home. You will be selecting items such as your bricks, render colours, window and garage door colours as well as feature external materials and more. Austral’s qualified Interior Designers will assist you every step of the way and will present a coloured render at the conclusion of this appointment. 

Goal: By the end of this appointment your documents will be for submissions to authorities another step closer to your home.

Actions after the appointment: Get prepared for your next appointment! Start thinking how you want to use your spaces in the home and how you want them to feel.

APPOINTMENT FOUR: OPEN STUDIO & CONTRACTION SIGNING APPOINTMENT

Length: Approx. 4 hours

We will confirm your external colours selected at Austral and you’ll have one on one time with your interior designer to go through your ‘must haves and wants’ for your internal colours. You have the opportunity to explore different options to suit your style and budget. Upon completion of the Open Studio Appointment, you will meet your customer service representative to sign your building contract.

APPOINTMENT FIVE: INTERNAL SELECTIONS APPOITNMENT

Length: Approx. 7 hours 

During your Internal Selections appointment, your Interior Designer will take you through the options available to you in terms of colours, finishes and textures throughout the interior of your home. You will select from a range of available benchtops, cabinetry, paint, tapware finishes, flooring and tiles, as well as many other products all with the help our qualified Interior Designers, to get the final styling right for you. This appointment will take a full working day… Don’t worry we will provide lunch, snacks, tea, coffee and water.

Goal: By the end of this appointment all your selections will be finalised and signed off on, allowing you to leave happy and knowing exactly how much your selections cost.

What do you need to prepare? Anything that brings you inspiration and a decisive headspace! We encourage you to bring in colour swatches, material swatches, pictures or samples of key pieces of art, furniture, or items that you would like to plan your home around. Everything else will be ready for you in the studio.

Actions after the appointment: Now that the biggest selections appointment is out of the way it’s time to order takeaway, put your heels up and relax for the night. Then get straight back into planning. For your electricals, you will have to review your budget and put together an ideal plan of where you will put your furniture. Additionally, any add ons like sheds, gates, pools etc.

APPOINTMENT SIX: ELECTRICAL SELECTIONS 

Length: Approx. 1.5 hours 

From task lighting to mood lighting and heating, you will be able to select the locations and design of light switches, powerpoints and feature lighting, as well as alarm systems, intercom systems, underfloor heating, home entertainment and much more. You will have the option to attend either a one and a half hour or a three-hour appointment, depending on how much you wish to include in your new home. How you light your rooms reflects how that space feels.



Actions after the appointment: Your time in the My Choice Design Studio is officially done! You’ve finalized and signed off on your all selections and are ready for your next step!
