PARKS & RECREATION

You won’t run out of opportunities to get out into nature with the Watagan National Park, Olney State Forest and Lake Macquarie just a short drive away. Whether you choose to walk, cycle or 4-wheel drive, there is no shortage of places to explore around Watagan Park. If you are looking for something less pulse racing, Warners Bay or Catherine Hill Bay are less than 30 minutes away, why not pack a picnic and make a day of it!
The beautiful Lake Macquarie is ideal for water sports and sits next to stunning beaches. If you wanted to wander the spectacular coastline, keep an eye out for majestic humpback whales between May and November and pods of dolphins through the year. You may also be lucky enough to spot dolphins in the lake too.
